Duration: November 2017 – Early 2020

Razel Water Solutions is carrying out work on the drinking water networks and associated structures as part of the drinking water supply project for the Domoni conurbation (40,000 inhabitants):

  • water supply: Galani source water intake collection and installing 7.4 km of HDPE and steel pipes ranging from DN 500 to 160, including 1500 m in the Galani gorges;
  • civil engineering works: construction of 5 new reservoirs and restoration of 2 existing reservoirs;
  • supply and installation of distribution networks (34.3 km).

The main challenges for the construction site are access issues and the convergence of materials:

  • installing a supply line in the gorges,
  • no roadway and no access for construction machinery 1500 m upstream of the pipe with a slope of up to 30%;
  • transport and handling by human resources (pipes of 380 kg/u) required the implementation of innovative means (manoeuvrable cart , “toboggan”, etc.).
